Second tier German outfit Union Berlin have confirmed that Birmingham City are interested in pursuing the signature of Danish defender Kristian Pedersen. The 23-year-old left-back has been linked with the Blues over the past few days and their interest in the Dane has now been confirmed, according to The Birmingham Mail.

As per the report, Pedersen is said to have a release clause of around £2.2 million written into his existing deal at the Stadion An der Alten and the Bluesare supposedly willing to trigger the sum. The full-backbegan his playing career in Denmark with Benlose IF before making the switch to hometown side Ringsted IF.
